Tim,

The Met Office ATD net data is available from the NWS servers now

http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/raw/sf ... .egrr..txt

Not that I can de-code any of it!

The Blitzortung data is from a Boltek Lightning system, and is not that reliable compared to the SFLOC data. The SFLOC data could also be processed by DA which was a very nice touch to the charts. The Met Office have changed to an ATDnet system (Arrival Time Difference) which has many more returns a...

I am surprised that US METARs do not show CBs.

Here's todays from London Heathrow:

EGLL 111120Z 20016KT 9999 8000SW VCTS SCT029CB SCT041 12/04 Q0994 TEMPO 4000 +TSRA BKN015CB

the TCU and CB are appended to the cloud amount and height.

Plotting of TCU & CB on METARs

Tim,

With the loss of SFLOC data, is it possible for Digital Atmosphere to plot the TCU and CB from METARs - perhaps with a distinctive colour ?

Peter,

The SFLOC data was stopped by the UK Met Office in December 2007. It has been discussed on uk.sci.weather, but at the moment there does not seem to be a replacement available.

Thanks Dave. I have tried reinstalling V 1.12 and the V 1.22 patch - even tried uninstalling the whole programme and reloading in a different folder but with the same results. Having spent 3 hours on it (amending the preferences in two styles and script files..) - I've decided I shall live with it a...

CAVOK Plot gone!

After clearing out old programs and files from the computer, I seem to have lost the ability to plot 'CAVOK' ie the circle with a cross through it. DA plots all the others OK but when cavok is reported there is no station circle....dont suppose anyone know why, as it works on my laptop and must be s...

Tim, Thanks for fixing the Load Plot Model.

As regards the SFLOCs. The data that is on the NWS server is from the 11th December 2007, which I think was the date the Met Office stopped releasing this info. That is why Albany have taken it off the server.

Script Plot Models in V1.21

Upgraded to V1.21 and DA does not now recognise the plot models saved in Equinox. As a result, when I load any .SPS files, the plot models all show nothing (not (blank)) which then results in no plots! As an interim (and I did reload V1.12 with now the same result, and tried a system restore without...

Tim,

I had to get rid of the sample.txt file in the tutorial again for 1.04 to install properly.
