I can now view the data with PCgridds32, so one can use gfs or nam as initial files and afterwards run ARW or NMM on ones pc. Afterwards you can use pcgridds/gempak/grads to view. oh ok my pcgridds32 version was old ..lol.
problem fixed..need to update.

Seems like pcgridds32 nor pcgrads can decode grib2 format. Ive notice that ncep has started to add grib2 format to their wafs products.
wafsgfs_L_intdsk24.grib2.

Tim are we gonna get a grib2 decoder? before ncep changes everything to grib2 format?

weird, ive tried the help cmd in pcgridds32 versions from dec 2004 up to latest version w/no problems.
