Re: RADAR Plot

Issues with plotting 88D data may be related to what I warned off eleven months ago, which took affect in fall of '10. I heard no responses to my post below.

New NWS 8-Bit radar data

Hi, I get an error when trying to feed off the new NWS 8-Bit radar data - yes I change the .rad file to poll the new directory. By error I mean the data will not plot. http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/SL.us008001/DF.of/DC.radar/DS.p94r0/ Tim, what are you going to provide us legacy DAWS users in order to...

Hi,
Can someone tell me why, as a user who strives for the best quality sfc data, I should update from DAWS to EQ? After reading through the forum I have yet to find a DAEQ user who isn't experiencing bugs.

Thanks in advance for the replies...

Re: Toubleshooting DA

Really nothing, 2 are deskop Dells, the third a laptop Dell. All have the same operating system. The only one that works is my home desktop. The other desktop is a work computer with extra firewall security so that may be the reason that one won't work. But my home laptop confuses me, there is noth...

I too HAD the same issue you descibed with plotting radar data until I switched my source from COD to NOAA. Now, with using NOAA as my radar provider I can run three to four days before I hit a virtual memory error ( I hoist 13 *large* sfc sectors over to the web every 20 min). Ex: http://stormeyes....

My wish list in step with observational needs: -Update the generic background maps and feature overlays to 1) Add Broomfield County, Colorado 2) Correct the outline of Denver County, Colorado to reflect the needed expansion for DIA 3) I-39 is currently missing in Illinois 4) The latest three legs of...

Okay, The file you need is located at: http://www.dlfloyd.com/misc/metar.zip This zip file contains the program and the readme file. The readme is in Word format. Dave took a chunk of his time to write the readme in a style that we hope will work for the majority of users. Perhaps someone can take t...

You might also want to check the following site to keep abreast of new sites that come online. TTU recently added two new sites since Thanksgiving.

Home weather station support

All, I’ll make a deal with those who want to do what mlewis73 is asking for. If you are a Davis owner and will send your obs to either the CWOP or APRSWXNET, I’ll provide you with an executable that will take your home ob and code the ob to the metar format. You’ll then be able to plot your obs in D...

IA "mesonet" sfc obs can be plotted

All, In the spirit of trying to stay true to what Dig Atmo used to be about…sfc plots… for those polling sfc data from U. of Albany, a slew of obs from the “IA mesonet” are available for ingesting into Dig Atmo. The obs span potions of IA, SD and lower MN. See the following sfc map and note the seco...
