Anyone successfully filter a report/parameter?

Has anyone had any luck lately omitting a station temporarily? Seems like it was possible to even eliminate a parameter (surface pressure in mb) of any station in an exclusion list in a digatmos.rul file. The offending station is K1M4 in NW Alabama who is always reporting SLP around 965 mb, and it r...

Re: Tim's weather station

Finally looked into this topic. Good point about vane clearance. Fortunately, I'm on top of a big hill with good lack of nearby trees with my vane 10' above roof. I typically get readings as high or higher than the local class C airport. Have hit 50-65 mph in strong wind situations IN WINTER and SPR...

Re: Nexrad Color Schemes (discrepancy?)

Yeah, seems he's churning pretty heavy lately.
Looking closer, I see what you mean.
I'm still "doctoring" my palette (for lighter colors). Will post a new version I'm using shortly.

Re: Nexrad Color Schemes (discrepancy?)

I wonder if the newer colors may be a closer/exact implementation, if based on the NOAA radar info page that gives info on coding, product codes, colors, etc. I imagine he had to get the other radar info as well at such a site. Maybe. My sense is that I like lighter colors so plots can be seen more ...

The NOAA site for fonts
http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/raw/as/a ... od.sus.txt

has gone https - so I'm glad Tim already set up his link to get the data.

Re: Alternate wx font - much larger wx symbols - file now li

Yes. Here is a sample with larger size. It is not "blown up" but is actual size (just a large chart). Oh, I'd be happy to send it to you, or you can download it in prior post. I just doctored "your" font that came with program. So, it's really your font. Use it as yours if you li...

Re: Intermittent data download from weather.cod.edu

Tim has responded quickly to the COD change which became a problem, and has created these links for current data: I hope Tim doesn't mind me posting this first, but I believe everyone can use these... http://www.weathergraphics.com/data/current-metar.txt http://www.weathergraphics.com/data/current-s...

Re: Intermittent data download from weather.cod.edu

Yeah. COD, as almost all "serious" sites have done, went to https. Some NOAA sites still use http, but others have switched over. If the rest of NOAA does it, we could be seriously limited. I'm sure Tim will thinking ahead on this. But, until then, buoys are now gone to us. (Or am I missin...

Alternate wx font - much larger wx symbols - file now linked

Ooops. I forgot to include the link: http://weatherroanoke.com/meteo.ttf Here is an adapted version of the weathersymbols font that enlarges many wx symbols for easy reading, especially when using smaller sizes for large maps. This is not a criticism of the original font (which may be desirable for ...

Re: Updated station file for DAWS

For those who just like to have the latest station file. Latest updated station file for DA 2.xx and 3.xx I decided to update digatmos.stn of 1.xx, and earlier, because I think it may be useful for plotting overlay station reference. New stations since last update. KEZZ Cameron MO KL08 Borrego Valle...
