Re: Latest version--ups or downs?

I am still using V 3.20 as that was the last version that I can import a MLID file. Quite important for me as I have adapted the MLID to serve my own purposes, and added a few stations that are not in the database. I looked at V.3.5 and thought that there was no added value for me, and in fact the m...

Re: European Users

Hi Dave, You are correct that an increasing number of countries in Europe are not sending their SYNOP reports in the format that is on weather.cod.edu/digatmos/syn You can still get the synops from Ogimet.com but it more hassle, as you have to manually edit the files so that they are compatible with...

Hurricane plots

I have used Digital Atmosphere for over 20 years in the UK, and have never bothered with plotting tropical storms...until now. I am interested in plotting the model forecast tracks on a map. I have downloaded and plotted the UKMET files OK (as shown). However, the urx file in the data downloads for ...

Importing a MLID table

Just wondering if anyone has successfully imported an updated MLID location table on V 3.30 and V 3.32
I have been ok up to V 3.20, but since then I just get DA and encountered an error: Range check error.

When I try and restore default table the error is '08/31/1945 is an invalid date and time.

Re: New Digital Atmosphere release (Nov 2016)

Tim, as far as bugs are concerned, the only one that comes to mind are METARs when there is RVR included. At least in Europe. For example take:METAR EGLL 010650Z 28002KT 1300 R09L/P1500 R09R/0600 BR BCFG NSC 06/06 Q1023 TEMPO 0500 FG BKN001= The ceiling will take the Temperature i.e. C6 will be disp...

Re: New data source file

Thanks Tim for the updates. I have to admit the relocation of the NWS data files to http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/fax/Amaster_index.html caught me out earlier in the year. Just for info the UK/Europe Lightning data disappeared 2008 and the locations http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/raw/sf/sfuk30.egrr..txt...
