Re: Updated station file for DAWS

Yes - and upper air data won't plot either.

Looks like my edit of the longitude for one location followed by a save didn't quite save properly for some reason - although it was a csv file.
I've re-re-done it and everything now appears to be OK. Interesting.

Re: Updated station file for DAWS

Hi Folks,

I have one problem.
When trying to read the new station table I get an error:
"Too many stations in station table. Can only hold 20000".
DA then crashes.

Has anyone seen this error?

Re: Updated station file for DAWS

Many thanks for the update Wally, much appreciated as always. One tweak with ICAO code OINK in Iran: Gonbad Ghabus is 37.25 N 55.1 EAST with an elevation of 32.6 m. as checked by: from ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/noaa/isd-history.txt http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/surface/stations.txt similar On a...

Re: Updated station file for DAWS

Thanks for the updates Wally - much appreciated. I just noticed some rather cold temperatures in the eastern Atlantic! A Swiss station had a minus sign (W) in the longitude rather than a positive number (E). Tracked it down to: 06725 Blatten (Loetschental) which is 46 25 14 N 007 49 24 E according t...

Re: Trying to eliminate bad station - a SHIP

I've seen the same problem with SHIP data around Iceland and elsewhere in the North Atlantic. The rul file just doesn't work with them. I suspect you're right in that they're not fixed locations. It would be useful to be able to limit the use of certain parameters if their value is outside reasonabl...

Re: Updated station file for DAWS

Hi Wally and folks, Tim - I'm pleased to hear that the MILD will eventually be read by DA. The MILD location is correct for 06208/AWG-1, but the location identifier list (csv file) has "-" in front of the longitude number which needs removing (it's actually near the Netherlands coast) east...
