A simple way to deal with the URL download format is to go to the Retrieve Data dialog, highlight the site you wish to examine by clicking on it, then click the Edit Site button. The URL link will be shown on the lower text box from which you can copy and paste into your scripts.
Hope this helps.

Re: Colored terrain underlay used in Forecast Center maps
Greg, it seems to be a modified version of the planetary map that ships with v3.50a. I'm not sure if it was included in earlier versions but I don't seem to remember that it was. The Meteorology Lab map also appears to be superimposed on top of a texture map of some kind and then the colors are twea...

Re: SPC Outlooks
The Convective Outlook module is only partly functional unfortunately. Perhaps Tim will get a fix out sometime soon. Also, the data download site listed in the Retrieve Data panel no longer provides the actual geographical locations necessary to plot the convective boundaries. I think a workaround m...

Re: Viewing Soundings
Yes, it makes upper air maps. Underneath the Toolbar on the Workchart tab, there's a drop down list titled Level. Choose the height you want from the list and go from there.

Re: No Radar Data
Btw, if you need assistance with script writing. Try this section of the Board..."Digital Atmosphere scripting laboratory"
It's a dedicated subsection for all things script related.

Re: No Radar Data
You have to write a script if you want to create Soundings without selecting them manually. Such as this example...
Sounding,KFWD,C:/Soundings/KFWDSounding.bmp
This script, once run, would create a sounding for KFWD and save the output to the Soundings folder.
Code: Select all

Re: Viewing Soundings
On the Menu Bar, go to Data -> Sounding... Be sure you have downloaded upper air data first. Usage should be pretty self-evident after that. Just select the site from the drop down list.

Re: Anyone successfully filter a report/parameter?
I've had the same issues Wally. Deleting the entire station was the only fix. Tim is scheduled to start some DA programming soon, maybe he'll address this one.

Re: New beta test version -- V3.20 test 001
Tim, Is there any provision in v3.20 for altering the digatmos.nex file to handle Clear Air Mode radar color choices? It's not 'clear' to me how to do this. Also, there's a bug that crops up when 1000mb height values are less than zero. For instance, -10dm will show up as +510dm. This causes issues ...

Re: Nexrad Color Schemes (discrepancy?)
However Tim chooses to proceed with this, it's not a huge issue for me since the colors can be remapped using Imagemagick. Don't know if others know how to do that though.
