PCG32 Beta-HI Def maps

I downloaded these maps and installed them in the appropriate directory and made the necessary changes to the PCGMODE.DAT file.

When I use the BSMP command and type in COUNTY, the view just plots up lat/long lines.

Is there something else that needs to be changed like a color pallette?

Ftp with NOMADS site

Carl, That server now no longer contains "real-time" grib data, just historical stuff. The new server has "recent" grib data but even this can be anywhere from 6 hours to two days old. You also no longer have the ability on this server to pick and choose what grib data you want or don't want nor can...

Overlay Points or County boundaries on maps

I was wondering if it is possible to overlay counties and/or "points" (i.e., cities) on a saved map?

If not would it be possible to add it to the "wish-list"

Jeff,

After following the instructions regarding printing and using the mouse on the print dialog box, one map will print then PCG locks up.

Macro's for cloud cover

IN PCG32 are there any macro's for "determining" cloud cover for various heights (low, middle, high); using either Relative Humidity at standard levels or using an average of two or more levels :?:

Feature Suggestion

It would be nice for DAW to plot both the detailed and supplementary vortex data messages for Atlantic tropicals when available. Would help a lot in pinpointing tropical positions. Only problem I can see with having this is that the times of these messages do not conform to any partiular hour. Nonet...

Hi John, We use VIPIR here at channel 10 in Albany. VIPIR is a radar interpration tool for analyzing Doppler data, either live or level II (it can even be used on post processed data like that offered by WSI, et al). It is awesome at diagnosing severe weather. VIPIR is an acronym for Volumetric Imag...
