The "Weather Symbols" true-type font is in the Fonts list. Changing the Font Mode to NMC/NCEP Raster results in the pressure tendency symbol plotting. Changing it back to TrueType results in no symbol being plotted. Installing 1.40d from scratch on another PC, this time with WinXP Home as an operati...

Then anything you plot or analyze on that map will use the AWIPS "style" that you can find under Preferences. The ...

Paste the following (modified for contour interval and color that you desire of course) into the file digatmos.mnu and restart digital atmosphere.

I just wondered if there was a functionality somewhere within visual fortran that would grab just the contents of the Wingridds window, instead of the window and anything overlaid. But there must not be.

Jeff, It would definitely be a good thing to put in the documentation about capturing anything onscreen at the time. I also wonder if there isn't a specific window capture function in Visual Fortran (or whatever is being used to create the temporary files). For example in basic Windows functionality...

Variable and Missing Wind Plotting Errors in Fusion

These errors are holdovers from previous versions of Digital Atmosphere and continue in this beta version. When a variable wind is contained in a Metar (such as VRB04KT), Digital Atmosphere plots it as a wind from an ENE direction always. This is then utilized, apparently, in any objective analysis ...
