Thanks Bob,

Before I download a PDF reader to open the manual, I guess DAWS also has ftp capabilities?

That was my main interest, to automate the software completely. Effectively generate and upload maps while I`m at work!

Guys,

I`m a complete novice when it comes to DAWS, so I could do with some advice on trying to automate the software. I`m after generating SLP charts (and maybe some upper air), and ftp`ing them to my site at intervals.

Is this a big task??

Learning scripting

Hi, I`m on day 12 of my evaluation, and after working through a few problems I`m having my last one is how to get the most from `automating` DAWS before I get my credit card out. I`m happy with the quality of mapping from DAWS, and just about got the maps how I want them. Now I need to take the next...

Hey Roy, Good timing, as I was playing around with DAWS this evening!! We have our first significant snows of the season forecast tomorrow, so I`m hoping to get some charts drawn up. I really want to commit myself to buying this software, but a couple of problems are holding me back. First off, the ...

Thanks,

I am currently using Albany, works great for what I need. Unfortunately I am having problems with the fronts. Using either NCEP, Albany or Hamweather results in the fronts looking like a rope full of knots!!

Data for Canada

Hi, I finally managed to get DAWS working on my PC after pulling most of my hair out yesterday! I will be doing most of my mapping for mainland Canada, and sometimes North America. Most of the maps I will be after are SLP and frontal maps. Can someone recommend a good source of data/url`s for Canada...

Mmm, almost certainly a windows 98 issue. I put my spare hard drive in, which has an installation of windows 2000, DAWS worked perfectly on that.

Windows 98/DAWS problem?

I`ve spent the best part of an hour looking through various threads on here, relating to my problem. I just download DAWS, and I`m very eager to get it running and evaluating it before buying it. Unfortunately I keep running into problems. Installation went well, the problems begin when generating a...
