Re: Anyone successfully filter a report/parameter?
Has anyone had any luck lately omitting a station temporarily? Seems like it was possible to even eliminate a parameter (surface pressure in mb) of any station in an exclusion list in a digatmos.rul file. The offending station is K1M4 in NW Alabama who is always reporting SLP around 965 mb, and it ...

Request for Heat Index to be Calcuated at AWOS Sites
Hi Tim, Enhancement - While wind chill is calculated for both ASOS and AWOS sites, heat index is not calculated for AWOS sites, actually maybe any MTR that has AUTO text preceding the wind. There are lots of areas where there is a large distance between ASOS sites, and having it calculated for AWOS ...

Digital Atmosphere using pre-2001 Wind Chill Formula
Hi Tim, It appears as if DA 3.10a is still using the pre 2001 wind chill formula when calculating wind chills. Below is a graphic. For the site circled in red in South Dakota (KD07), the temperature in Fahrenheit is plotted as -4 (-20.0C in the QC window) and the wind is from the north at 18 kts. DA...

Re: RADAR Plot
Edit...I just saw Tim posted a link to a new digatmos.rad file on the main weathergraphics.com front page. Digital Atmosphere's radar functionality is affected by a recent NWS server change to their directories. To fix this, download this digatmos.rad file (right click on link and choose Save As) an...

Never mind, I just had it send me a new password to the old account and that worked. Silly.

Re: Strange map behaviour
The analysis is based on the plots, but also the grid spacing. Since the number of grid points in both maps is the same, the grid spacing (used for the analysis and therefore the drawing of the contours) will be larger in the north/south direction for map that encompasses a larger north/south distan...

Re: Strange map behaviour
The sea level pressure analyses on my attached maps look quite a bit better than yours. But then I don't think the map area is as large for mine, and there is a much greater density of observations and more uniform spacing.
