Plain language output of surface station obs
I'm looking for a way to tap into the decoding of surface station obs that DA obviously does to produce surface charts. This would enable a table of data for each station to be easily extracted. The data can be seen whenever you draw a marquee around a station and invoke the quality control panel. I...

Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Dave and Budgie, I've done a search on the forum for links to planetary maps, but they either give links that no longer work, or complain about links that no longer work  . A Google search provides many satellite images but none are workable - too much cloud or too small a scale. I have al...

Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Hi Dave, I may be missing something in your question, but can't you just use the Make Topography selection on the Map menu? This is pretty coarse at higher scales, but does at least give an idea of elevation. The only problem I have (which I don't remember being a problem in earlier incarnations of ...

Re: I have error message which indicates TEMPCACH.BMP consta
Serge, I very occasionally have the same problem when running a script. Sometimes the script continues to run with the next chart, sometimes not. This issue was raised a few years back here - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1421&hilit=tempcach - but was not resolved.

Re: Getting back up to speed
I wrote to Tim and posed this question a while back, and received the following response on 11 May. It offers me, as a long-time and intensive user of DA, hope for the future. Now to get the list of suggested improvements going... We are moving toward a different compiler so we can support Mac and L...

Re: Synop station plots
I think what you need to do is go into preferences, select the Station Plots tab, then in the top right corner select Metric for Station plot units.

But unfortunately not possible if you're producing hundreds of charts 24/7!

Re: New PC, Buoy Data Read Past End of File Error
Same with me - I pull buoy data from Albany by script 2 or 3 times an hour and have not had any problems.

Re: Time Stamps on DA
Weatherguy, the download script looks fine to capture the latest observations, but do you need to get them from so many sites? Most .sao or .syn etc files are similar from site to site. The @Y@M@D@H are replaced with the date (UTC) according to your computer clock, so you need to check your computer...

Re: Weather stations and identifiers
Tim, firstly congratulations on even attempting the herculean task of rationalising historical weather stations and identifiers. I'm looking only at Australia. On a quick inspection, there are numerous entries that appear to be incorrect - I say "appear" because the information may be corr...
