You're probably better off importing a planetary map, than drawing topography. You'll get a better looking product, imo. Admittedly, there's not a huge selection out there but there are a few good ones.

There are many changes in how DAWS operates compared to DA2000. You should probably read the manual for details. That said, "load" has been replaced with "import,XXX.dmf", where XXX.dmf is the name/location of your map.

http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/ is probably you're best bet.

Be sure and use the 211 domain.

Carl, I believe the Pro version should have the "Professional" designation across the title bar...I know mine does. The Cd contains all the files needed for map generation. If you've installed the Pro version and DAWS is still showing "Registered", I would uninstall the earlier D...

He's probably busy with storm chasing activities. Plus, I know he moved recently and may not have his new home office set up yet. But still, it's not like him to not answer email within a reasonable period of time. Hopefully, he will surface over here soon.

At present, I don't think it can be done via a script. The only way I know how to get VV's is to use the GRIB forecast models.
