Professional version maps

Dear Bob, Thank you very much for the tip. I uninstalled the registered version on my computer, and reinstalled the professional version. After restart, the Professional title was displayed, and all the maps were available. The maps make Nexrad data much more valuable to me. Thanks again for the tip...

Professional version maps

I seem to be having a problem with the professional version of DAWS, specifically in the map section. When I try to make a detailed map with the included map files, an error message pops up stating that map tiles outside of the New York area are only available in the Professional version. That is wh...

Grib data and importing

I just checked my version of DAWS this morning (04-18-05 05:22a) and imported a grib file for forcast hour 24 of the data set for 04-16-05. The data plotted just fine. Are you importing more than one forecast hour at a time? This might be the source of the problem. I used the 211 grid for the NAM mo...

Dear meweather:

You might find some useful information by going to page 2 here and following the thread "Grib data and importing". There was another user with similar concerns to yours. Hope this helps. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

Satellite images in DAWS

Britbob: I don't know what others have tried, but I got them to display by setting the United States map for "Satellite" in DAWS generate map function. Then I set image size for 1200x896 pixels. I let it draw a map, then used import map command to import the saved satellite image from My P...

Satellite images in DAWS

An additional note: I have gotten satellite images to display correctly in DAWS without using GeoSatSignal, by downloading the 1200x896 pixel images from UCAR. However, all the analysis functions work fine except for the vorticity analysis (both absolute and relative), and the divergence function. W...

Satellite images in DAWS

Greetings: Does anyone have any experience in using GeoSatSignal images in DAWS? I have the GeoSatSignal program up and running (nice work by the way) and I have heard about the .dmf files available from Meteo Maarssen. Unfortunately, when Tom Lindemann graciously tried to e-mail them to me, Hotmail...

Deserved Praise

I would like to take adavantage of this forum to let everyone know about my recent dealings with two of this groups member/businessmen. I recently had some trouble with viruses and Trojans on my computer. In the process of cleaning it up, I had problems with two of my weather programs. Ton Ehrensper...

GRIB error

Are you importing more than one forecast hour at a time? This seemed to be a problem that I encountered when I tried to import GRIB data. I had success when I only imported one forecast hour (24 36 48 so on..). I got my data from the NOMADS site, ( I prefer the meso-eta and usually use the 00, 24, a...

Do the analysis/styles need to be simplified?

I think the system in place is just fine as is. Once I get it set up the way I wish, I seldom have need to change it. Perhaps the best way to assist the beginning/casual user would be a walk-through addition to the user manual. Sort of a hand-holding guide to making the desired changes. I think that...
