Board update
Effective April 12, 2021, we had to delete about 8000 frivolous spammer accounts going back over a year. There was no way for us to locate all legitimate user applications, so some may have been deleted. If you are an actual user who created an account since March 2020 but did not get approved, please register again. You can also contact us via the Contact link on the main Weather Graphics webpage to get assistance. When you contact us, it is essential you provide brief but detailed info on your meteorological background or inform us of any previous order you've made, this way we can tell you are a legit user, otherwise we will assume it is a spammer trying to bypass the application checks. Thanks. -Tim

I/O error 32 on data retrieval
Hello Tim, Maps look fine . I am however UNABLE to retrieve any data from the internet , always getting an I/O error 32 while attempting to retrieve anything (( I've tried checking and unchecking all the sites in various combinations , or even just checking one site ...but this makes no difference ) .

I'm presuming you want this for use in wxsim ??
If I'm not mistaken Tom mentions a whole bunch of sites where to get data - including FOUS - on his site :
http://members.aol.com/eburger/wxsim.html
I think he also put quite a few URL's in the help.doc that comes with wxsim ( or manual.doc )

This could have to do with the size of the files then , beacuse the smaller grib-files do work when importing . Like I said earlier the AVN global file which is about 20 mb in size also fails to import . DA starts to import - in effect recognizing the file as a valid gribfile - but it freezes solidl...

Could the inability to import large grib-files have anything to do with this ?
Which grib-files are you trying to download /import ?

Hi Stefan, yes I already knew these particular files do work . Also the ETA- model gribfiles seem to be working as well on the noaa - server . http://gribs.ocens.net/EastAtlantic.wind.grb.bz2 http://www.globalmarinenet.net/grib.htm also only offer wind-data , whereas the noaa-server files seems to b...

Still not able to import big grib-files
Tried to import Grib-data again . Either the files I'm getting are totally wrong ( although it says on the site these are global AVN-gribfiles ) or DA is having trouble importing such large files . Names of the files are : gblav.t12z.sf96 and ( I think this one is meant for use with a specialized pr...

Read about this in the Satsignal group as well  Now we sure would like to know a couple of things : -settings ( both in DA and GSS) - source for this data , it seems to me there's more fleetcodes-data here than when downloading the fleetcode with DA In short : everything you'd be willing to te...

error in front-drawing tool
I've noticed a small but tedious bug in the front-drawing tool . When I plot a north-america map at 1024*768 and plot in pressure lines I usually put in the "H"'s and "L" 's manually . However, when I try to plot a H or L at the sides of the map it usually gets plotted on the opp...
