Thanks Jeff, Still having some issues with the txt command, or rather it`s placement in the display. For example If I use TXT4 it ends up halfway down the display, TXT18 ends up over the top of the left corner legend. Just wondering, would it be difficult to increase the naming scheme for the SAVS c...

TXT# command
Jeff, Regarding the use of the TXT command. I was a little confused by the placement of the text. Which line number on the screen are we talking about? That said, after reading the paragraph this does not work when using print, can I assume it does not work with savs either? If it doesn`t display th...

I don`t bother with the grib downloader in wingridds as it seems a bit hit and miss (more miss than anything). Grib can be downloaded from here ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/ Just download a grib file into your nws folder, and then use the built in wingridds conversion (convert regula...

Downloading the datasets can take a long time, some of them are huge at over 100mb. Maybe your connection to the ftp servers is a little slow? I know when I download grib from nomads it can be pretty slow, and I have a decent adsl connection at home. I`ve never tried to ingest any dataset that is la...

Surface plot models
When creating station plot models, I noticed both ID (ICAO and WMO) display the same identifying code. I was putting together some precip plots and noticed this.

Thanks Kevin, I`m having problems with the majority of the grib downloads within the downloader tool. Either the datasets are empty, they won`t convert properly or nothing downloads at all. Hopefully in time this can be fixed up, because it saves a lot of hard work for the user digging around for av...

Map resolution
Guys, Regarding the map sizes, are these fixed depending on what screen resolution we are using, or can the width be changed for example? I`ve been plotting some GFS mslp/thickness charts, but I`m not too fond of the letterbox style result. Just wondering if the overall maps can be squared up someho...

Jeff, I`ve fumbled around with the pallete file somewhat and got close to what I was looking for. I can`t seem to change the legend block (or whatever it is called), looks rather odd being a black strip in the corner (see example in link). http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l54/bazwxman/ruc1.png Idea...
