PCGRIDDS32 Update - Progress
All, Just to let you know, I am planning on releasing a new PCGRIDDS32 beta release this month of September. There are about 30 new grid diagnostic commands, improvements in the way CROSS/TIME sections are done as well as other minor improvements and some bug fixes. I had planned on releasing it las...

Hi Quinton, When I was developing PCGRIDDS32, the map files from DOS PCGRIDDS had to be converted to be used in PCGRIDDS32. I converted all the maps which came with PCGRIDDS and are included in PCGRIDDS32. If you have another map file which was used in PCGRIDDS but is not included in PCGRIDDS32, I h...

Greg, Gee, sorry, this issue is non-negotiable. The whole foundation of PCGRIDDS32 is from a common-grid perspective and the GRIB ingestors are designed with that in mind. Now, it can be done but the work involved would be quite a bit. A special GFDL GRIB ingestor would have to be designed to take o...

There are three types of wind deformation: Stretching, Shearing and Total. There are commands/macros in PCG32 for all of these. Search through the HELPC.DAT file for 'deformation' for all of the commands dealing with stretching and shearing and if you have the macro TDEF, that calculated the total d...

marck, No, sorry, contour filling is not currently supported...yet. I have been working on an routine to do that hoping to include it in the next release but I'm finding out it is more difficult than anticipated, so it will have to be in the more distant future. Filling the contour itself is easy bu...

PCGRIDDS32 can map the entire world. However...if, by your example, you wish to examine data over Europe, you need to first have a dataset loaded which covers Europe. The global GFS Lat/Lon grids do cover that area. You need either the entire global GRIB file or the sectional WAFS octans which cover...

PCGRIDDS32 Background Color
All,
As for now, the background color is 'hardwired' to be black. However, in a future release, it will be user selectable...which will require a modification to the PCGMODE.DAT file.
Thanks,
Jeff
