Yeah, this would be a nice option. Saves having cluttered up taskbars and also accidently shutting down the program.

I know there`s a bunch of apps for `minimize to tray` options, but I don`t like installing unheard of shareware applications (for obvious reasons).

Did you run any scripts before running that colourfill one?

I don`t bother running colourfill scripts, because for some reason DAWS can be hit and miss about clearing basemaps. Sometimes they clear, sometimes it overlays on top of the previous job etc etc.

Wow, any of those additions would be fantastic. Half of those additions I doubt I`ll use though, primarily because I`m in Canada. So here`s a top five from me. 1 A) Surface & Upper Air Observation Ingest and Display 2 D) Skew-T & Hodograph Analysis & Displays 3 B) Satellite Imagery &...

Ditto...

Runs sweet :)

Looks like I got my Christmas present six weeks early! Thanks for the hard work Jeff.

Going to start working on a few batch files and some automated runs. Should be fun!

There`s a filtering option in the Nomads directories that let you pick and choose which fields/parameters you wish to download. That way you don`t have to download the full grib datasets, you just download what you need to use.

Environment Canada started adding overlays to their images a few weeks ago. I guess it would have stopped working back then. Looks like DAWS is trying to import the overlays which is causing errors.

Re: Data files

Hi Jeff: Well, I'm beginning to see how this all works, and in the process, ran into another problem. I did not realize that the data files are saved onto my hard drive, and those files are huge!! :o This will be a problem since my hard drive does not have much free space on it. Then, I still can't...

What are you doing on here  Have a look around the Blue Marble website(s). You`ll need the much larger images for regional maps. Bear in mind, the more regional your maps become the more grainy/distorted the planetary background will become. Bigger planetary map is better for regional basemaps...

It should work Ian. By default the WINGMODE.DAT file will be set to use bitmap. Just change it to png, also you can change the path to whatever folder you wish for your charts in that same file.

Tim,

Not sure if you`re around, the current DAWS beta will be expiring in the coming days.

I sent you heads up last week, just wondering if you`re aware?

Regards,
Bob.
