Isobar Plotting - How To

Post by AB5R »

Pardon the "rookie" question, but how do I simply plot isobars at various levels? There is no HELP file to ask and I do not want to bagger Tim with dumb questions!

I would assume that I could set the wanted Mb level in the upper left box and go to Analysis, but no choices there seem to provide the desired plot. Also, is there a Preference setting to adjust "spacing" between the isobars?

Thanks for the help,
Jerry

Jerry,
You are correct in one way in that you set the mb level in the upper left box and using Analysis the choice is Pressure the next choice is Height.
The height at whatever mb level you have set will be displayed
Isobars are points of equal pressure at any given height e.g Sea Level Pressure, but by fixing the pressure in mb the only display possible becomes the height.

To recap: one is the lines of pressure versus height the other is height versus pressure.
Difficult concept to write down but cannot explain it any clearer.

Thank you Peter. I guessed that it was omething simple, but I guess that I was not "simple minded" enough. (smile)
