Support and Upgrade

Post by ddelprop »

Hello,
I just have a quick question. Is the Current Version of DA activily supported by the developer. I am a license holder of an older version of DA 2000. I stopped using DA years ago because some of the features did not work. And at the time the Developer would not fix what did not work and required me to upgrade at later date. I ended having to write my own program that would download the Fronts file, edit-it, so that DA could digest it.

So after a few years I am back. But I still found some problem, or at least they may not be issues, but user errors. I have sent messages asking for support but no responce yet.

Is DA an activily supported product?

Can anyone tell me if we are likely to see an upgrade of Digital Atmosphere any time soon. I am still having issues running on Windows 7 64 bit

I've no idea about any updates to DA but what issues are you having the Win 7 64bit?
Do you run it as Administrator and is it installed at C:/Program Files, C:/Program Files (x86) or just C:/DigitalAtmosphere ?

Yes I am running it as Administrator and yes it's installed in C:\DigitalAtmosphere.

The main issue is - it doesn't close down properly . The only way I can close the program is to use Task Manager. I have emailed Tim many months ago about the problems.

It may not help as I've only used it with W7 32bit, but I use System Scheduler to start & close DA and it works very well.
May be worth a try.

Sadly I can't help behind that as it'll be down to Tim.

Hi. I use windows 7 64 bit, I have never had this problem. It may be that you have a corrupted install. If you may have to deleat (after backup to another disk), and reinstall. If I can help PM me

Hi Chuck

Maybe you could try this

Open Up DA

Select Live Chart Retriever from the Menu.
Download a chart

Then try to close DA

Every time I try this the only way I can stop DA is to kill it via Task manager

I don't see that option on my version of DA (v2.07), which menu is it in and which DA version are you using?
