Station Code in DAWS

Post by LT »

I am just trying the Demo-Download of DAWS with the most actual patch.

I tried to show different Identifiers for the stations - choosed within the preferences between ID (ICAO) and ID (WMO) - but in any case in the map I always get the WMO-Identifier, never the ICAO Code of stations.
I did not have manipulated the digatmos.stn - file. Within the text of this file I see that for the relevant stations there are both (ICAO and WMO) identifiers.

What is wrong ?

I get the same thing for both choices, too.
A small bug Tim will add to his list I imagine.

May be it is a question of the data that one loads down.

I have just corrected an incorrect address of the site of
"METAR from FSU (worldwide)" in the DataRetrieval Window of DAWS.

There originally stood
"http://www.met.fsu.edu/Data/archive/met ... @D@H_metar..." or something like this. Always as I tried to download data from this site there was a failure comment in DAWS. As one has a look at their Web-Site than the correct address for the DataRetrieval Window of DAWS must look like this:

"http://www.met.fsu.edu/Data/archive/met ... @D@H.metar"

Than it is possible to retrieve data from this site and these data show the ICAO-Code in the DAWS-Map if you choose so.

To mention just that:

The data of the above mentioned site indeed show ICAO code but if you choose to have only WMO code afterwards than it shows ICAO code again.

To sum this up - like Wally Mayo said - there must be a small bug in DAWS.
