Problem with Cressman Wind Analysis

Post by MarcC »

Hi Tim and others,

I was experimenting around with the different analyis routines today, and ran into a problem with version 1.0f. I clicked File>Prefrences, hit the analysis tab, and changed the analysis routine to "Cressman." After analyzing SLP, temperature, humidity, and perhaps the altimeter setting, I clicked Analysis>Wind>Wind speed (vectors). The status window displayed the following:

» Building data for analysis...
» Starting Cressman pass, field=1
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=1, conv=190.82
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=1, conv=152.65
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=1, conv=114.49
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=1, conv=76.33
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=1, conv=38.16
» Starting Cressman pass, field=2
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=2, conv=190.82
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=2, conv=152.65
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=2, conv=114.49
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=2, conv=76.33
» Converging Cressman analysis, field=2, conv=38.16
» Expanding grid...
» Ready.

Then it displayed this map:

I get the same result using Barnes analysis.

I think this is a problem that is being worked on.
