I have 2 additional features I would like to see added...both are Radar related:

1. Add Radar animation...if possible have overlaid metars animate as well.

2. Add an "on the fly" radar curve filter that would allow the user to not show radar returns below a certain threshold by just tagging the radar legend.

The 'optional title' for the PRODUCT script verb isn't working (see thread at viewtopic.php?t=401 for more discussion).

Tim,

The HSFC script function doesn't work when trying to compute various fields with the upper levels...ie...subtracting the HSFC DVRG field from the H250 DVRG field yields bogus results. I've tried several combinations/calculations with HSFC and they all end up with erroneous data.

Also, wind speeds derived from isentropic analyses are too high, in some cases by 50kts or more.

Exported charts as .gif render colors a bit differently than on screen or if saved as .bmp
That is, the bitmap exports do the color pallete exactly, while with gif exported charts the color pallete is modified or corrupted somehow.
Can the gif exports be fixed to be as accurate as the bitmaps?

And would like the highs/lows plotting option with ASUS fronts to be independent of the drawing box highs and lows as far as enabling.

Wish List:

1. Hurricane tracking and wave/swell included in script

2. appropriate pictogram for storm/hurricanes

3. accurate front plotting by means of script

4. Label LAT/LONG lines on map

5. enable multiple map layers in order to browse amongst various map displays

Tim,

It would be nice to be able to isolate Hurricane track climatology by month like is available for tornadoes.

I miss the former 3D analysis section:
- cross-section plots
- 3D roaming sounding
They were very useful!

Also the Q-vector analysis is missing

A PVU (potential vorticity) analysis module would be handy (upper levels)

Tim,

I'm running DAWS version V1.1e.

Found the following bugs with radar products selected from the "Radar Menu" using the "default" url list.

Radar > Reflectivity > Composite

CR %1http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/SL.us008001/DF.of/DC.radar/DS.p37cr/SI.k@r/sn

Will not plot properly. Data plots "off center". Also looks like data is not to scale?

Radar > Other > Severe weather probability (SWP)

SWP %1http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/SL.us008001/DF.of/DC.radar/DS.47swp/SI.k@r/sn

"Read beyond end of file" error.

Thank you,

Kevin McBride
