GRID.TXT FILE - BAD INFO IN MANUAL

Post by SteveHmeyer »

While trying to automate some MS Excel tasks using the objective analysis file produced each time DAWS 1.1c does an isopleth analysis I was getting non-sense results.

While going bonkers checking out how I indexed arrays, thinking somewhere I was reading or writing the wrong cell of data, I discovered an error in the DAWS Manual (or alternately if the manual is correct the program produces a bad grid.txt file)

On page 133 it is stated that the grid.txt file produced columns of data in the following order X Y LAT LON Value with the origin at the NW'ern most value x increasing to eh east, y increasing to the south.

The CORRECT data column layout is Y X LAT LON VALUE. The manual has the x column and y column reversed.
