Which GRIB files do you use?

Post by simonjk »

Having problems importing GRIB files into DAWS.

What GRIB files from which location do you use?

Tim, it would be useful if we could import the file
ftp://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/waves/lat ... 3.WIND.grb etc direct into DAWS.

Cheers,
Simon

Dear Simon;
I just recently tried the GRIB import function in DAWS and had excellent success. It went much easier than I expected. I use files from nomads.ncdc.noaa. I am currently using the meso-Eta files because they run out to 48 hours, and they work well in the time section display in PCGRIDDS 32. I simply do not delete them after converting to pcgridds compatible data, and then navigate to the GRIB>NWS folder with DAWS. I am surprised that it worked well for me the first time that I tried it, because my luck with new programs has been less than stellar. Hope this helps.
Cordially,
Carl Sidor
