Raw Model Data

Post by svrwx »

I am using DAWS and have been trying to import raw model data files and then display them, with no luck. I keep getting the same error when I try and extract model data: No data was found, try importing a file that contains ETA or NGM output.

I have two questions, does anyone have any good websites or ftp sites that I can go to and get model data files that work, and can I import other model data than just ETA and NGM?

Thanks,

Matt,

That particular forecast element in DAWS is being phased out in favor of using GRIB model data. Try downloading the '211 - Domain' files at http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov(you'll have to dig down a bit) and go from there. Also, be sure to use only the "nearest neighbor" analysis algorithm because the others won't work with GRIB.
