MAPPING: GDI Error

A customer writes:

I have downloaded and installed the Digital Atmosphere Workstation V1.1e on my Dell computer (700MHz; Windows 98 SE). However, when I try to generate a base map, I usually get the following error: " An error has occurred in your program... Details: Digatmos caused a General Protection Fault in Module GDI.EXE." Occasionally, a map will be generated, usually with some of the smaller
scales (I think).

He followed up a few days later to say, "I have managed to solve the problem by changing the line width of the geography to 1." This is set in File > Preferences > Styles.
