Analysis software

Post by Carl Sidor »

Bob:
MeteOS is a program to configure and run the MM5 model on your computer. He has a demo for Windows, and he promised a 30 day trial period. I haven't heard any more about the trial period, though. His company is called Storm Laboratory, and he is in Bulgaria. Ain't the web a wonderful place? The website is quite neat and worth a look. I just Yahoo'ed MeteOS and he came up number 2 on the list. Thanks for the help on partitioning, I will definitely have to look at that again.

Cordially,

MeteOS,
I have hat contact about the windows version but he told me that because of some problems with the design he was not going to make a windows version anymore. So only the Linux version will work, but if your a windows man it's no good. I have windows myself and it's not easy to find good analising software or scripts for the weather. Forecasting is verry bad to find. Seems that there are no good long range forecasting scripts or software on the marked for nice prices.

MeteOS & MM5 model under Windows.

Post by Angel Dimitrov »

Hi folks,

I stopped the work over MeteOS 2005 Win32. There are some porting problems. MM5 is developed for UNIX, my Windows compiler compile the sources but I cannot run some of the executables, so I created Linux server, which convert the GRIB to pregrid MM5 format, then it upload the data to second server, then the client side (MeteOS 2005 Win32 Trial/Full version ) downloads the pregrid data and run MM5 model. The program which define the terrain in MM5 also doesn't works under Windows. It fails when it try to read the topography database. Too much porting problems, so I stopped the development. But it's neat to try a demo version of MM5 model under Windows;) so I will not remove the demo. May be some day i will continue the work with fresh compiler.

Have a nice evening!
