Re: Is there any scripts for LI, TT, or other parameters?
Re: Is there any scripts for LI, TT, or other parameters?
I am looking for anyone who has scripts for any of these or other severe weather parameters, they care to share. I need these for my web site.
Thanks,
Randy
Thanks,
Randy
Randy,
The ability to manipulate upper-air data via scripts is somewhat limited. Hopefully, Tim will expand this area in the future. For now, the following scripts are the only ones I'm aware of.
K Index
KO Index
Vertical Totals
Cross Totals
Total Totals

Bob

Re: Severe parameter scripts
Well my goodness Bob!
Where have you been lately, as I have not heard anything from you. Thanks for the scripts, and hope everything with you is well.

Are you sure these work? I've tried the scripts, and all but the vertical
totals, cross totals, and koindex gave me results.
Re: parameter scripts
Hi Bob:
Yes, the upper air data seems fine, I mean I have had no problems using it thus far.... But I don't know!

Randy,
If the data's okay, you may want to double-check the scripts to make sure they're written correctly. If that checks out, the only other thing I could suggest is for you to send a copy of your digatmos.mnu file to wxguy@yahoo.com and I could add them for you myself.

Jon,
Basically, yes. All you need to do is open up the digatmos.mnu file using your favorite text editor(ie..Word, Wordpad, Notepad, etc..) and insert a section called Stability Indices and under that section you would then enter the scripts listed above. The main issue here is to make sure that you follow the formatting conventions as shown the digatmos.mnu file. For instance, the word "Stability Indices" would appear by itself starting in column 1. You then add a new line and space over to column 2 and enter "K Index"...without the quotes. You then space over to the vertical bar section, insert a new bar, and then enter the script. Then repeat the process for the KO, CT, VT and TT scripts.
If you're still a little confused after reading this, you can send your digatmos.mnu file to wxguy@yahoo.com and I'll fix it up for you. You could then look at it to see how to implement future changes. However, if you do these modifications for yourself, make sure you close DAWS first, then make the changes -- save the results, and re-open DAWS for the changes to take effect.
