Hi Guys,

I'm new to scripting and was hoping someone could show me how to construct a simple script to plot humidity at 700mb highlighting the 70% and 90% contour. In addition I'd like to shade/cross hatch the 70% values in grey and the 90% values in green (in order to depict probable areas of cloud/precipitation). I suspect that the script is not a complicted one (forgive me if I'm wrong), so if I had an idea about how to go about producing it, it would point me in the right direction for future efforts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards and respect to all,

Dave Exton, UK.

You could try this and make changes for your system. Colorizes the dry and higher humidity only

Another possibility, based on my own colors.

Erase
ANALYZE,OVER FILL COLOR=230:230:000 FILS=0 GRTN=70 RELH H700
ANALYZE,OVER FILL COLOR=068:064:213 FILS=0 GRTN=90 RELH H700
basemap
analyze,CONT COLOR=100:100:100 LINE=2 EQUA=70 RELH H700
analyze,CONT COLOR=100:100:100 LINE=2 EQUA=90 RELH H700
stamp

If you change FILS=0 to FILS=1 you can use the script over satellite images.

Dave,

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but you might want to give it a try. Just be sure that your background map is white.

Code:
ANALYZE,OVER FILL COLOR=215:255:176 LSTN=0 OVER FILL COLOR=203:253:157 LSTN=5 OVER FILL COLOR=190:249:138 LSTN=10 OVER FILL COLOR=165:243:112 LSTN=15 OVER FILL COLOR=140:239:88 LSTN=20 OVER FILL COLOR=121:235:59 LSTN=25 OVER FILL COLOR=93:228:27 LSTN=30 OVER FILL COLOR=67:220:6 LSTN=35 OVER FILL COLOR=55:210:6 LSTN=40 OVER FILL COLOR=50:200:4 LSTN=45 OVER FILL COLOR=49:191:2 LSTN=50 OVER FILL COLOR=39:182:2 LSTN=55 RELH
ANALYZE,OVER FILL COLOR=0:92:0 GRTN=95 OVER FILL COLOR=0:101:0 GRTN=90 OVER FILL COLOR=0:111:0 GRTN=85 OVER FILL COLOR=0:121:0 GRTN=80 OVER FILL COLOR=16:130:0 GRTN=75 OVER FILL COLOR=24:141:0 GRTN=70 OVER FILL COLOR=27:151:0 GRTN=65 OVER FILL COLOR=27:161:0 GRTN=60 OVER FILL COLOR=38:171:2 GRTN=55 RELH
ANALYZE,HILO CONT EQUA=60 COLOR=0:190:0 LINE=2 CONT CINT=5 GRTN=80 COLOR=0:185:0 CONT EQUA=75 COLOR=0:181:0 CONT EQUA=70 COLOR=0:190:0 CONT EQUA=65 COLOR=0:190:0 CONT EQUA=55 COLOR=0:105:0 CONT LSTN=50 CINT=5 COLOR=0:90:0 DASH RELH

Yes, it looks like a mess posted this way, but if you copy and paste into DAWS, it should only take up 3 lines.

hth,
Bob

Hi guy's. I thought I'd already done this on the forum, but since I cant see the posting here, I'd just like to say a public thanks to Kinetic, Fred and Texsky for the very useful scripts. They've all gone to a good home!

Much appreciated, and reading them is education in itself.

Regards and respect,

Dave Exton, UK.
