Plotting swell heights and wave direction script - help requ

I have been trying to write a script for sea swell heights and wave periods using buoy data but without success.
Data is downloaded from http://www.atmos.albany.edu/weather/data1/surface/boy/ and can be displayed on DAWS
In 'Preferences>Station Plots>Surface Plot Model I have entered Swell Height and saved the model configuration.
Displaying the station plots shows swell heights but attempting to write a script produces lines which are not at swell heights and values that are random. This has been confirmed by viewing commercial swell height charts.
I have referred to DAWS Manual - Analysis scripting - Base fields and whatever is selected does not change the chart or the incorrect values.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
