v1.11 bugs and other smaller things

Post by Launchee »

Hello all there

I wanted so say something about bugs etc. I found in V 1.11:

First of all: with the new version 1.11, there's something wrong with the "Cursor Slave"-Mode. I found it activated already, then switched it off, but when I start making s.th (e.g. adding some pressure-lines etc etc), the Cursor-Salve is activated again, and even sometimes the red cross from the cursor does stay permanently on the map as if it is frozen. Often I have to switch Cursor-Slave off again, then everything is working well until the Cursor-Slave is again activated by itself.

2. Analysis --> Moisture --> Relative Humidity ... the parameter is missing inside the bracktes, and anyway there's only one opening bracket on the left side... Not a real "bug" ;-) but just to say ...

3. Help --> Ordering Info --> no browser is opening etc. This also occurs with other links inside Help-menu

4. I'd like to map Mauritius... But there's nothing there. I know it's a small island, but there's absolutely nothing there. But on the other side, little Comoro Islands NW of Madagascar are visible on the map.

5. Data --> Build 3D-Atmosphere --> not implemented yet? There's no function when I try this...

Thanks, Ciao, Kai

hi. why is no-one answering me?

I'd like to purchase DA, but when I see that there's no support etc, I wonder what I will do...

I think it's necessary (at least I like it like this) that there's a good support for a product...

hope someone will reply :-(

More continuing problems with Equinox 1.11 here.

Put it up on a test system and it STILL won't import and ingest data. See the below cut & past from the script run maybe that will help someone...also as mentioned earlier the cursor slaving won't stay turned off and there is no option to set it in the Preferences as shown in the Help section. Turning it off from the right click of the mouse while on a map only works for that one map then its right back on again....

I've been a user of the program/customer for MANY years now, come on folks lets get this together and get it right please, this is starting to get embarrasing. I recommended the program to professors and students at Penn State for the last two years where I took classes and I'm sitting here with major egg on my face.

I tried checking the url's for some of the download sites (download,http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/raw/wt ... E:\Program Files\DigAtmEquinox\data\nhcatl2.txt )and found that they are wrong. Specifically the http://www.weather.noaa.gov as they no longer exisist. You will need to cut and paste the other urls' and ensure that they actually work.

Also, I noticed that you are saving files to an "E" drive. Is that correct for your machine?

Good luck.

Greg:

Yes, E is just fine here, its a Windowa 2003 server and has a C D and E drive among others.

As for the URLs these are stright from the program that I'm copying them so if they're wrong or out of date I have no idea how I should be updating them. If you have a more accurate digatmos.urx I'd be happy to see it.

George,
Is the file "Test.dsf" something that came with DA-Equinox or is it something leftover from a previous version, as I don't have this file myself, and I like you, have been using DA for many years.

Given some time, I can go back through all of the urls and get them updated, but it won't be this week.

TESTING.dsf is just the script I put together here to run and check program operation based on the data in the current digatm.urx file which is the source for all the URLs etc. You won't have it or anything like it unless you put it together yourself. Though I'd be happy to share it.

Servus Stefan.

So was wäre z.B schön für DA.

Ciao, Kai

George,
I was able to test all of the urls' this afternoon and discovered 2 things. The link for ETA and NGM data is no longer valid. I have put out some feelers to see if there is another source. Also, if there is not a current hurricane / typhon then the link does not work as there is nothing to download (I think that this is the case). I was wrong about the http://www.weather.noaa.gov link, they work fine if you use the right time tokens! I emailed Tim and will report back when he responds. I'm wondering if there is an "extra space" or syntax problem that is causing your problem? Have you been able to succesfully execute this script before? Not much help, but maybe something that will help troubleshoot the script.
