Jeff,
The more I use it, the more I like it. I do agree that disk storage is likely to be a big issue for some folks, and I don't think there's anything YOU (Jeff) can do about that. For example, the 84-hour NAM (Grid 218) in 3-hour increments produced a GRID file that was ~97 mb (that's megabytres ...

Isentropic analysis
It seems to be working fine, as far as I can tell. I downloaded the 12Z upper air data from this morning and produced plots of Theta and wind barbs on various isentropic surfaces. Perhaps you aren't setting the tabular settings correctly? You not only select Isentropic Analysis but also have to ...

More satellite/data maps
Here are a couple more map coordinates that work reasonably well (both use the Orthographic setting):
Lat: 31.05 x Lon: -97.085 x Scale: 850 x Image H x W: 672 x 672 ROTA: nil
Uses this satellite URL: http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/data/satellite/latest_AUS_vis.jpg and you can also use this ...

Me too!
Tim,
You need to do something about this ... don't put a new version out and then run off to support chasers. I've been one of your true supporters for over 10 years but I think you need to decide whether you're in the chase support business or the software business.

Problem with pressure analysis
I am getting an error message ("read beyond end of file") when I attempt to plot analyses of pressure (both MSLP and altimeter setting). This occurs when using 14UTC 4-23-06 METARS from Albany and 12UTC synoptic data from Albany.

NARR-A
Apologies for the confusing post, Jeff. It appeared to me that the GRIB model parameters were displaced westward which is what brought me to take a look at the lon command. You are correct, the NARR-A is on the 221 grid which is Lambert conformal. So, after receiving your reply, I took a look at the ...

Another NARR (North Amer. Regional Reanalysis) problem
I am having a problem with NARR-A data. PCGRIDDS32 appears to be placing the data ~1.5 deg west of the actual longitude. I had this impression from several different plots of different NARR-A datasets, and when I ran the simple command < lon >, the longitude lines are wavy, and are displaced ~1.5 ...

Kevin,
Fundamental problem ... when I try to process the NARR grib file using NGRB2PCG, it produces nothing and shows unknown model type as it attempts to process through the various levels. Thanks for the response ...

North American Reanalysis (NARR)
Has anyone had success using PCGRIDDS32 on the NARR-A dataset?
