I do not know of any command line switches that will allow you to go from downloading then ingesting grib data to being able to generate PNG maps.

However, as for the automation of downloading GRIBS then ingesting it for WINGRIDDS that is very easy. You will need to be a bit savvy at writing batch ...

Here is a macro that I use for UKMET data. I had to break it into 2 threads. It has contouring of RELH for 700 millibars and Absolute vorticity for 500 millibars. It works fine. Accumulated precip works sometimes at others it doesn't.

Is it me or are the ftp servers for NWS and NCEP screwed up? I haven't been able to download any grib files for almost 24 hours now.

This also leads me to a question:

Does anybody know of alternate sites to get GRIB data, like UCAR, or another site?

My ooops, I meant ETAL macro.

As for version wingridds 1.0 the most recent beta version prior to 2.8

I'll download some of the cmc and WRF data today with the GRIB files that I used.

I didn't see any visible errors or get any error messages during the grib file conversion process.

I hope I can explain this well.

I run a WINGRIDDS session using the GFS data, finish and then exit WINGRIDDS completely.

Later I start another WINGRIDDS session and the last map from my prior session using the GFS loads up. Why does this happen?

I am also having two issues:

1) When I try to use ...
