I'm pretty angry that I bought this only to find the same problem. These files are the only ones that European users can realistically import sizewise. I bought DAWS to help me to forecast and its not good enough for the author to wash his hands of grib support for European users.

get wafs data to plot...using for example...

at present it imports the data but wont contour

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I have trawled through the past messages and found 2 other people with the same problem...but no explanation and no fix. If you are sure you have seen an explantion or a fix, I am willing to trawl harder!! Many thanks

Come on, someone must have had a similar problem or could easily replicate the situation. Can DAWS cope with grib data in octants?

I am trying to download data for octant I from for example ftp://noaa.gov.uk/us008.gf096_(date/time)_HxIDx

It seems to import into DAWS fine and I can select a field. It wont draw any contours however. Has anyone any idea why?

I have downloaded other data from marine sites etc and they plot fine ...
