Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Thanks Peter, that's appreciated! I have now tried the links in the other replies (which do involve your suggestion). They do work very well especially when combined with imported shapefiles and my own custom overlay - UK Shipping Forecast areas. I don't know if you remember, but Weasel created some...

Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Many thanks Budgie, that's much appreciated!
I've successfully saved and imported one of the maps on the NASA site and am very pleased with the result.
I'll continue to look for something a little more transparent but in the meantime your links will be well used.
Once again,
Thanks.
Dave.

Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Thanks Laurier and Budgie, I had a feeling solving this one wasn't going to be straightforward. Anyway, I guess we'll all keep looking until we find something, and somebody will, eventually. I enjoy the challenge of playing with DA - trying to improve the appearance of my charts etc, and also the co...

Re: The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Hi Laurier, You've hit the nail on the head sir! My problem is that a green sea doesn't look very neat, coupled with the fact that the other contours have colours that dominate the map and are quite overbearing. I'm looking for something a bit more subtle, so that the station plots show through and ...

The Hills are alive...(I wish)
Hiya Folks, Does anybody have any ideas as to how to add topography to our basic outline charts? I have been quite lucky in terms of finding free Shapefile maps which I have used to great effect in terms of adding accuracy to the coastline and islands around the British Isles and Europe. I've even a...

Re: Getting back up to speed
Just to echo the coments made above - good to have you back Tim! DA is still an exciting bit of kit, and I'd be devestated if it wasn't around. I'm just getting into shapefiles and custom geography so an upgrade soon would be superb!
Best wishes Tim,
Live long and prosper!

Adding lines (points) to DA maps
Hi to anyone out there! I'm after the help of anyone that's plotted any points as an overlay onto DA. Having recently dicovered a shapefile that will add all adjacent islands to the UK and Europe (missing in DA) I have bravely attempted to put together a file that will overly the UK and surrounding ...

Hi folks, Peter, Thanks for the reply, I'm comforted by your comment that you have had no problems with fonts etc. That suggests that the problem is fixable at my end. In answer to your question, I have copied the fonts from previous editions of DA. I hadn't had any problems with Equinox until one o...
