alanduckers wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 7:57 pm Hi Phil,
how do you remove the new WIGOS ID data from the synop report,
Kind regards,
Alan
I don't! I just Control A the whole page and paste into Notepad... seems to work for me. It includes the WIGOS ID data but the synopsis are still fine.

Re: UK and Ireland synops

Hi Alan,
As last time, I cannot answer your question. I thought at first because the UK Ireland synops on the GTS were rebroadcast by KWBC (I think is Washington Operational Data Centre) it may have been an issue with the DHS budget shutdowns ..but as you say its been going for weeks.

I have taken ...

Re: Europe synops on COD and NIU

They are back this morning Alan. Although I cannot answer your question. One of the longest outages. They were available on Ogimet , but even there there was a day or two with some truncated data.....left to the METARs and the ship reports which usually stay on the COD & NIU servers!

You are welcome Dave. Glad you got it to work. Yes, I still find ‘new’ things on DA after years of use! All the best. Phil

Re: Annotating maps and shapefiles

Dave,
It's no good using Word. You need a text editor like Notepad on Windows. Open the file up in Notepad, and use the space bar to move along to enter the details. Make sure that there are no extra spaces and that everything lines up otherwise it wont work. It's deffo the digatmos.CTY file. that ...

Re: Annotating maps and shapefiles

Dave,
The easiest way is to use the Map/Addoverlay/Cities function. Look up the format using a text editor in File explorer of the digatmos.cty file. It will then plot using the coordinates you have given in the styles format that is currently selected. So to put 50N 10W on the map enter 50N10W ...

Re: Adding a new station to the Station file

You are welcome Dave. I have to do the same with East Malling in SE England, as there is a drought of synop stations SE of Kenley, especially after the infamous Gravesend 03784 closed in 2018. East Malling is a climate station, data available on Ogimet, with wind/temp/pressure, and I use the same ...
