So how do you save the .dmf file. I can save the .bmp file to the DAWS program files folder, but the .dmf file is another thing.

Also, where does the satellite images come from? Where would I get those to import?

Wow! That works really good. Thanks! Now how did you generate the map? Did you just have to fiddle w/ it until you got the right lat./long/ and the aspect ratios, etc?

Does anyone have any other generated satellite/model maps they would share. I can't seem to get anything to line up in DAWS, so ...

Re: Satellite images in DAWS

Britbob:

I don't know what others have tried, but I got them to display by setting the United States map for "Satellite" in DAWS generate map function. Then I set image size for 1200x896 pixels. I let it draw a map, then used import map command to import the saved satellite image from My Pictures ...

Also, do I have to have the pro version of DAWS to get rid of the eval. version of Fusion?

I also tried Unisys and another site, but couldn't get anything to match up either.

What is a mercator image anyway?

Thanks for trying and for everyone's help!

image overlay basics

I know that DA doesn't overlay images, such as forecast models or satellite images...but can someone tell me the basics of how to do it manually myself? I'd like to be able to take an image off the web, for example, from Unisys, and make that a basemap for my background, then I can use DA to add ...
