Re: Wave Heights
Let me try it this way for data on 0200Z November 20th. On the map I have highlighted Buoy 41009. According to http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41009, the wave height reported at that time are 2.9 meters, or 9.5 feet. None of the two maps below, with arrows pointing to Buoy 41009 ...

Well,Greg Higgins wrote:Your answer is: meters
I have 'English' in my Station Plot Preference units, which would make some of the waves in the above map over 100 feet.

Re: Station Model Pictograms and TrueType font
tmagan, this was discussed at some length in http://www.weathergraphics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1515&hilit=meteo.ttf . As I recall, it can be fixed by downloading and installing the meteo-old.ttf font from the downloads page at http://www.weathergraphics.com/dl/ . Look in the utilities ...

Station Model Pictograms and TrueType font
When I download data, and use the station model plots in NMC/NCEP raster, I get the cloud type pictograms. However, when I use the same data, and use Truetype font, I do no get the cloud type, pressure tendency pictogram.

Re: Plotting temperature, or dew point values
That will plot the 'station plot' on the map. I am interested in just plotting temperature values (not isotherms), or dew point temperature values.Ross wrote:add Plot

Plotting temperature, or dew point values
We know that the command line:
'product,plf,0'
will plot surface station plots, provided you have downloaded the correct information.
However if you wanted to plot surface numerical temperature values (in degrees Fahrenheit), I would think that the following command would do it:
'product,tmf,0 ...
