Re: Source for METARs?
I found out what my original problem was. In my script I didn't have a comma after DOWNLOAD. Didn't see it for some time (you see what you think should be there, not what's actually there). Having said that, the Albany URL is done. Found that an NIU link worked, until last week when it suddenly went...

Re: Source for METARs?
And here's the reply from the webmaster:
"We have terminated that service. We will not be making that data available any more. Sorry"
So it looks like Albany is no longer available for downloadable METAR.

Re: Source for METARs?
That site no longer works for me. When I click on the link I get a 404 Not Found message. I found that there's a new site with a DAES ID, and have asked the webmaster about global METAR data from that site.

Re: Source for METARs?
Thanks Budgie! Thought I was using that one but it came back with no data. Don't think there's a firewall issue, so I'll have to play with it some more.

Source for METARs?
For METAR source data I've used the Albany U site, but that seems to have gone inactive, for whatever reason. Other links in the DAWS list seem to have gone quiet as well. Does anyone have an up to date list of on-line METAR data sources that can be ingested into DAWS? Thanks!

This always happens
Shoot, this always happens. I ask a question, then keep looking for the solution and find it 5 minutes later. It's the INGEST command, not the IMPORT command. But that brings up another question. I use three different maps, one for Pennsylvania, one for the Northeastern US, and a third for the entir...

What am I doing wrong?
I've developed the following script, which I've abbreviated for clarity (and included line breaks here that don't exist on the real script): DOWNLOAD, http://www.atmos.albany.edu/weather/data1/surface/sao/@Y@M@D@H_sao.wmo,C:\Documents and Settings\admjms\Local Settings\Application Data\DigitalAtmosp...

No default printer happens in XP too
I can verify that the "no default printer" error occurs in Windows XP (I believe SP3, but I'm not in front of the machine right now). I was forced to use the Ctrl-Alt-Del feature to kill the process, as I couldn't exit DigAtm (Pro) any other way. I also got the error when I moved the mouse...

Not before, but I certainly have now. Thanks so much for the reference, I can just work with these.

Temperature pallete
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. I'm getting back into seriously using Digital Atmosphere after being distracted by other things. One thing I'd like to do is create a script that creates a nice colored temperature map. I've already scratched out on ...
