Carl,

It appears that the problem you're having is exactly what you've described...ie, the "import directory" function. I haven't been using that to ingest data, I use either the data retrieval window or scheduler script commands. I just now tried the "import directory" feature and got the same frontal junk that you're plagued with.

The bug that I discovered the work-around for is strictly related to data ingestion via the data retrieval window. If you play around with putting the frontal URL anywhere other than the bottom of the list, you'll see that the trashy lines appear this way too. So, it looks like there are a couple of different bugs related to the ASUS drawing module, or at least it appears to be two different bugs...who knows, maybe they're tied together somehow. Tim will obviously want to take a look at this whenever he decides to put together a new patch. So, I guess my advice would be to try to use a different method of data ingestion if you can, otherwise, you'll probably be stuck with the frontal bug.

Hello,

As European user of DAWS I don't use ASUS frequently, but need it sometimes. Therefore my experients. It seems to me that the current ASUS version is not full suported by DAWS. The strange lines are the results for way DAWS reads the ASUS files. DAWS expect at the end of the ASUS frontfile a short sign. That sign is missing. DAWS is reading the first datagroups of the following datasets after ASUS (e.g. synopts, soundings or whatever) as fronts in the merged downloaded file. Indeed you can prefent it if you download ASUS as last option. The merged file didn't contain data after ASUS and fronts are drawn as it should be.

But that's not the core of the problem. This should be solved in another way, with respect to the way DAWS reads this files: Type NNNNN as sign after the last rows and save the new ASUS file. Now you can use it without any strange drawings. I know this isn't very helpfull is you are using the merged download files, but it should Tim help to fix this problem.

Cheers,
