Source for METARs?
For METAR source data I've used the Albany U site, but that seems to have gone inactive, for whatever reason. Other links in the DAWS list seem to have gone quiet as well. Does anyone have an up to date list of on-line METAR data sources that can be ingested into DAWS? Thanks!

I've been using this one without any issues (that I've noticed) until today:

Thanks Budgie! Thought I was using that one but it came back with no data. Don't think there's a firewall issue, so I'll have to play with it some more.

That site no longer works for me. When I click on the link I get a 404 Not Found message. I found that there's a new site with a DAES ID, and have asked the webmaster about global METAR data from that site.

Re: Source for METARs?
And here's the reply from the webmaster:
"We have terminated that service. We will not be making that data available any more. Sorry"
So it looks like Albany is no longer available for downloadable METAR.

Sorry it's taken 10 days, I've been away working but I've tested this one and it works fine:

Re: Source for METARs?
I found out what my original problem was. In my script I didn't have a comma after DOWNLOAD. Didn't see it for some time (you see what you think should be there, not what's actually there). Having said that, the Albany URL is done. Found that an NIU link worked, until last week when it suddenly went dark as well.
But the COD link continues to work, so hopefully that will stay active for the future.

Re: Source for METARs?
You can always use
http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observ ... cycles/@HZ
as in
download,http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observ ... amefordata
I doubt this like will ever go away.
Still, I've been using
http://weather.cod.edu/digatmos/sao/@Y@M@D@H.sao
I think the FSU metar source is still just fine:
http://www.met.fsu.edu/rawdata/metar/20 ... @D@H.metar
For buoys:
http://weather.cod.edu/digatmos/syn/@Y@M@D@H.syn
http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observ ... cycles/@HZ
