It appears that the problem you're having is exactly what you've described...ie, the "import directory" function. I haven't been using that to ingest data, I use either the data retrieval window or scheduler script commands. I just now tried the "import directory" feature and got the same frontal junk that you're plagued with.
The bug that I discovered the work-around for is strictly related to data ingestion via the data retrieval window. If you play around with putting the frontal URL anywhere other than the bottom of the list, you'll see that the trashy lines appear this way too. So, it looks like there are a couple of different bugs related to the ASUS drawing module, or at least it appears to be two different bugs...who knows, maybe they're tied together somehow. Tim will obviously want to take a look at this whenever he decides to put together a new patch. So, I guess my advice would be to try to use a different method of data ingestion if you can, otherwise, you'll probably be stuck with the frontal bug.
