A couple of quick questions...

A.) What version of DAWS are you using?

B.) What sites are you trying to download?

Bob
Version 1.1e. Mostly from Albany using the retrieval panel. Why?

Randy,

A few quick comments...

1. It's important to know where you're getting your data and what sites you're accessing, to see if the problem you're having can be reproduced. But frankly, I don't know what the error message means. You'll have to email Tim. It could be that one of the radar sites you're attempting to download isn't available, but I'm just guessing. Ask Tim for specifics.

2. I don't think Albany makes Nexrad data available. If you're using the default server for the NIDS product, it should be coming from COD. The next alternative would be from NOAA. And now with Bowling Green, you could try their server. Thanks to the guy/gal who provided the link above.

Bob:

Your help and assistance is much appreciated, thanks. I don't know what the "error" means either, and will address this to Tim.

I'm not really sure what radar data Albany is putting out, but it seems to be from all radar sites in one download. It displays as doppler data so I don't know. All I know is that I'm trying the suggestion you gave me earlier where you select several stations from the radar map, then select BREF from the pull down menu, and that seems to work great.

I'll keep you informed on the status of this.

Bob, and others:

I've found that bypassing the data retrieval panel for doppler radar, and instead using the radar pull down menu and selecting stations manually, works really well for me. As a result, I am using this method to get radar.

Thanks again guys for helping out!!

Randy :)
