UK Satellite Sourses

Hi to all,
I was just wondering as to whether anyone from the UK or Europe has had any success obtaining "local" sat pics and using them in DAWS.
I'd be greatful if anyone could point me in the right direction.
I've come to the conclusion that, for me at least, it's impossible to accurately track down fronts using station plots alone, and usually impossible using tempeature, dewpoint, thickness plots etc etc also

.
So if anyone can help, I'd be greatful!
Regards,
Dave Exton, UK

Dave,
Did you ever locate any good imagery for the UK?
I know there was a good internet source available at one time that used a NOAA image, but I can't seem to find it anymore. I never did try to get to fit in DA WS, but it might not be impossible if I could find it again.

I 'm struggling as far as usable sites are concerned.
The ones I'm using at present are:
http://www.weathercharts.org
and
http://www.sat.dundee.ac.uk., but im not sure if the usable in terms of base maps in DAWS.
We don't get it things easy in our part of the world, sparse data in the Atlantic, scant upper-air cover, no radar data (that can be be imported into DAWS) and not a lot of satelite coverage.
Don't know how we manage really! Still there's nothing like a challenge!!
I'll keep you posted if I uncover any good sat sites.
Kindest regards,
Dave.

Hi Dave,
I know I seen a NOAA Modis image for just the UK on the net not that long ago. I guess I should have bookmarked it..
The Dundee stuff is useless in DA WS, unfortunately. Matbe the wetherchart one will fit OK - haven't looked at anything from that site.
