The GIF charts export at @ 35kb while the JPG end up at 160kb – would it be possible to drop the quality on the JPG export routine in order to get the file size down.

Under PREFERENCES - MAPS you will find a slider in which you can fully control the compression level.

Thanks for that Tip Wally – missed that one
I have experimented with the JPG compression and there is a very fine line between quality and file size – I can not seem to get it right at all.
Actually - looking at the properties of an exported chart I see that the GIF has 8 bit colours while the JPG has 24 bit colours – this would explain the large file sizes both file types have a resolution of 96 DPI.
Tim – can we drop the JPG export format down to 16 or even 8 bit?? in order to get the file sizes down – I have not even looked at BMP as these tend to be very large indeed.
Have you looked at PNG format at all??
