Help for GRIB import in DAWS

To all DAWS users,

The next URL gives .grb files which can be opened by DAWS:

http://www.raymarine.com/raymarine/Defa ... 9&Parent=3

But I can find a way to plot or contour the data. The manual says on page 103 that I have to open the file and then to select a field. So far no problems. After selecting a field I have to click on "import". But that is not available on the window "select grb field". I can choose between "ok" and "cancel". The option "import" is on the left panel, but didn't work at this stage, to create a "costum data file".

I can import .grb-files by the pull-down menu option "file" or by "import" on the left panel, but the results are the same.

Can anybody help me out using .grb files in general?

Many thanks,

Ton,

The GRIB module is inoperative at this time. I don't know when/if Tim plans to reinstall it.

I was under the impression GRIB was operative. I'll look at it.

Hi Tim,

Glad you're back. Hope you had an enjoyable time off.

I think the GRIB module has been down since about version 1.0c. Seem to recall that you were putting it on the shelf for some reason, but then again, maybe not...I could be hallucinating :)

GRIB has been reactivated for V1.1a.

Tim,

This works fine, thanks! A simple question. It seems that the file I'm using is plotting temperatures in degree Kelvin. Nothing wrong with that. But is it possible to convert contours/plots (as option) into °C, or to °F (US-UK system).

Thanks again,

Ton Lindemann

I'm willing to make these changes as soon as we're sure the GRIB module is working well.

Downloaded the Australia.grb from the site above and it works. Wonderful.

Great to hear it. I'm sure it's still rough around the edges but it's a start.
