Data: NCEP North American Regional Reanalysis

Data Source: http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/data.php#narr_datasets

I have discovered a problem with dates with NARR data. The "day" is off by one day.

Example:
The following image was created online on NCDC's web site:


It has the correct day - Tuesday.

From PCGRIDDS32:



It has the wrong day - Wednesday.

OK - I'll take a look. Someone else had reported a problem similar to this a while back & I thought it was fixed. I think it may have something to do with how leap year is calculated (it is not as straight forward as every 4 years).
