Hi/Lo fonts/fronts questions

Couple of questions, now that I`ve started fiddling about with DAWS again!! Yeah, I took a break!

Is it possible to disable the hi/lo font that is displayed when plotting a chart using asus depictions? It looks ugly when I plot a surface analysis map using SLP and asus fronts, because the two hi/lo fonts overlap. In preferences the hi/lo font controls both asus and SLP plots?

Not sure what I mean? See example where I have circled.

Also can the asus fronts plot thicknesses be adjusted? I tried in preferences but it makes no difference. I assume this is for custom front drawing mode only?

Finally did Tim ever get a fix for the gif palette problem? It`s frustrating having to export in bmp format because gif looks shitty. Would be better if png was offered. It`s way better than gif or jpeg. Hint hint Tim :D

Where has Tim been these last few months? Haven`t seen him on here in ages :( Hope he hasn`t given up on us

Merry Xmas anyways. It`s snowing there this evening, giving it a festive feel.

Duh!! Never mind, I forgot there`s an option in preferences.

I still can`t get the thicknesses of the fronts to change, despite lowering the line value in preferences/styles. Not a biggie though.

Just leaves me with my latest moan for the day, the crappy gif exports. Hope Tim reads this and can add a png module, or at least fixes the gif palette. This is really important for many users who want to upload imagery to a website.

My Gifs come out fine! Here is an Exsample:

If you can post someone on here so maybe we can see what the problem might be!

For example, the first chart comes out fine. I exported this as a bmp file, then saved it to gif format using photoshop....

Then the following chart was exported from DAWS as a gif file, as you can see the colour palette is corrupted and looks horrible.

It`s just not practical exporting as a bmp, then changing the format with a third party software. Jpeg as you would expect makes the detail look rather fuzzy, but at least the colours are true.

Tim just wrote me back.

He said a PNG export option would be added for the next update :) Awesome news, because I`ve been banging on about this problem for ages!
