Something is wrong with my GRIB files and the analysis

I get my 211GRIB from: ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/

I was looking at Friday's wind thread in the Northeast and noticed something (this isn't the first time but it is extreme in this case), but for some reason it plots the winds WAY too high. I thought it was wierd because it should be just pure GRIB output, so I don't know how or why this would happen.

Here is 850mb NAM:

There is NO way there is a 105kt jet over NYC.

I know it is the write GRIB because the wind is in the right direction (as compared ot NCEP) etc., but jus the wind values are way too high by 40-50kts.

Here is the surface map:

10M GFS:

55kt jet at 10M? I doubt it.

Any advice on what is causing this or how to fix it? Thanks!

Wasnt that during the Nor'Easter? If it was.. the GRIB files might of been over done but could of been correct.

No - but what a great storm! 20 inches here.

This is for this coming Friday.

NCEP has winds at the surface of around 25 kts at most.... I have no clue why it's overdoing it like this.
